Kill Team: Nightmare Unveiled

For those seeking to add more elite warriors to their collection, the Questor Soulsworn warband is available for pre-order separately. These formidable fighters represent the finest of the Stormcast Eternals, capable of overcoming nearly impossible odds. Included are six warriors, such as the master weaponry Errant-Questor Duellist and the powerful Soulsworn Knight-Relictor.

For the more bloodthirsty, the Royal Beastflayers are also making their debut. This warband, whose heraldry seems to consist of blood, offal, and bone, is as fierce as it is delusional. The group includes a Royal Flaymaster, a Beastflayer Baron, Ghoul Gore-Squires and Trackers, and two simian brutes, the Offal Hounds.

Apart from these exciting game additions, Warhammer fans can also look forward to new merchandise. ATA-BOY, a partner of Games Workshop, has created two lanyards, one for Space Marines enthusiasts and another for Ork fans, while Merchoid has created two Warhammer 40,000 desk mats. The lanyards and desk mats will be available for purchase directly from the Games Workshop webstore and select stores on Saturday, July 29th.

On the literary front, Games Workshop will be releasing “The End and the Death Volume I”, the first part of the final chapter of the epic Horus Heresy series by Dan Abnett, in paperback format. Fans of the Gaunt’s Ghosts series will also have the chance to order four of Dan Abnett’s books via print on demand in hardback format. The order window will be open from Saturday, July 29th to Monday, August 14th.

Warcry is renowned for its streamlined rules and intense gameplay, making it an ideal entry point for newcomers to the Mortal Realms universe. The Warcry: Crypt of Blood is designed to further simplify the initial gaming experience with its small-scale setup, making it perfect for new players. The set includes two smaller than usual warbands, serving as an excellent platform to introduce the game’s fundamental rules.

The Crypt of Blood lore dives deep into Noctis, a crypt nestled in Shysih, and reputedly the final resting place of a legendary vampire. Sigmar tasks Xandire with recovering the precious relics from this crypt to prevent them from falling into Nagash’s possession. In response, the Crimson Court is ordered to exterminate these intruders. This atmospheric battlefield comes alive with a double-sided 30” x 22” cardboard gaming board and six pieces of terrain that recreate the eerie crypt of Noctis.

Included in the set is a comprehensive 72-page Crypt of Blood book, which provides the complete core rules for Warcry, as well as the lore for both warbands, seven exclusive battleplans, and advice on progressing further into the savage world of Warcry. The package also features fighter and ability cards for both warbands, 18 dice, and a Warcry token board with a range ruler and 63 tokens to track wounds and activations.

Fans eager to explore more can easily expand into the broader game, as every faction’s compendium of fighter cards is available for free download. As Warcry continues its ferocious adventure into Gnarlwood, fans can look forward to the newly revealed warband of monster-hunting Kruleboyz.

“Warcry: Nightmare Quest” introduces two formidable warbands, each with their own distinct strengths and characteristics. The first warband, known as the Questor Soulsworn, is a force to be reckoned with, while the second warband, the Royal Beastflayers, possesses a unique and awe-inspiring prowess. In other Warhammer news, the Horus Heresy range gets an upgrade with new plastic sponson sprues that allow for more weapon variety in armoured companies. Classic tanks like the Mastodon, Fellblade, Falchion, and Glaive make a return with updated datasheets and resin and plastic components. These ascetic fellows are a touch unusual compared to the many other types of vampire in the Mortal Realms, who run the gamut from nightmare stalkers to debauched aristocrats who rule whole kingdoms. With this new gang of pointy-toothed pariahs on the way, we’re taking the opportunity to compare them to other famous vamps.

Bloodhunt is the next boxed expansion for Warcry. It’s a decidedly gory affair as the Askurgan Trueblades face off against the Claws of Karanak to see who can spill the most blood.

Most Soulblight Vampires put on an air of nobility, ruling as the aristocracy of the night and indulging their ravenous appetite for mortal blood. The Askurgan Trueblades reject this. They are ascetics, an austere order of warrior monks who practise self-denial and live in seclusion in the mountains of Ghur.
