Custom Tokens and New Features

But that’s not all. The game features custom movie-inspired tokens, including a Dry Turkey, Chainsaw, Squirrel, Snots, Marty Moose Eggnog Glass, and Film Reel. Players can use these tokens to navigate the board, setting up Houses—now humorously renamed as “Decorations”—and Hotels, which are now called “Christmas Spirit.”

Watch out, though! Along your merry way, you may find yourself stuck with payments for Chemical Toilet Storm Drain and Jelly of the Month, which could set you back on your quest to win.

Special Cards for Extra Fun

The game incorporates special “Hap-Hap-Happiest Christmas” (Community Chest) and “Save the Neck for Me, Clark!” (Chance) cards. Use these to accumulate more Griswold Bucks and outwit your opponents. Be the last player standing with Griswold Bucks to claim victory.

A Fresh Take on Classic Mystery

In CLUE®: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Greg Heffley loses sight of his mischievous little brother, Manny, and players must unravel the mystery to recover the toddler before time runs out. Gamers can play as beloved characters from the Wimpy Kid world, such as Greg, Rowley, Frank, Rodrick, Susan, or Holly, each equipped with unique game-changing abilities.

The game breathes new life into the traditional CLUE formula, replacing the weapon tokens with “distraction tokens” that symbolize Manny’s possible distractions. These include humorous elements from the series, such as The Cheese, Greg’s Journal, Manny’s Pacifier, Ladybug Cellphone, The Pig, and Manny’s Training Potty.

Designed for two to six players, ages eight and up, the game features custom-illustrated artwork depicting locations from the popular book series, alongside six Suspect Clue cards, six Secret Clue cards, nine Location Clue cards, 25 Intrigue cards, and the infamous Clue mystery revealing envelope.

Creating New Memories

Release Celebration at “An Unlikely Story”

For die-hard Wimpy Kid fans, a release celebration will take place at author Jeff Kinney’s bookstore, “An Unlikely Story,” located in Plainville, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, August 23. Attendees can play the new game, purchase copies, and enter to win exciting prizes and promotions.

The MONOPOLY: Iron Maiden Edition comes at a time when the band is kicking off its highly anticipated FuturePast Tour. The unique piece of tabletop memorabilia allows fans to relive some of the band’s greatest live performances.

Keeping in line with the traditional MONOPOLY rules, players can buy, sell, and trade properties named after classic Iron Maiden albums like ‘The Number of the Beast,’ ‘Brave New World,’ ‘Senjutsu,’ and more. The goal is to bankrupt opponents and be the last player standing with the band’s notorious mascot Eddie adorning the currency.

Eddie also features on the traditional Chance and Community Chest cards, which have been renamed “Feeling Lucky?” and “Open the Box.” Fans and players alike will be entertained with various instances of success and brushes with bad luck, in the true spirit of Iron Maiden.

The game also includes six custom-sculpted pewter tokens, tributes to the band’s records and gear, such as an Albatross, Amp Stack, Flying Helmet, Nicko’s Drum Kit, Wasted Years Computer, and Steve’s Bass.

Rod Smallwood, Manager of Iron Maiden, expressed delight at MONOPOLY getting “the full Eddie treatment.” According to Smallwood, the game embodies the humor and unique history associated with the band, providing fans with an experience they have come to expect from Iron Maiden.

The launch of the Iron Maiden Edition of MONOPOLY coincides with The Future Past Tour 2023, with shows scheduled across Europe until August. The band will bring their celebration of heavy metal to North America in the fall, starting with the Power Trip Festival in Indio, California this October, followed by three shows in western Canada.
