Emperor Carver Ultimus Esquire III & War Boar MMD47, a pair that has garnered attention following their roles in the Legendary Event series and the Dragonfall storyline, are now ready to join the battlefields. Their introduction into the WARMACHINE universe is poised to offer players new tactical options and narrative depth.

Krueger, Wrath of Blighterghast, also introduced as a new model, aligns as an ally with the forces defending the Iron Kingdoms from the Orgoth invasion. This character brings additional strategic possibilities for players involved in the game’s expansive storyline.

Both Emperor Carver Ultimus Esquire III & War Boar MMD47 serve as mercenary models, making them compatible with any MKIV army and all Prime Legacy armies, providing a versatile addition to player collections.

Similarly, Krueger, Wrath of Blighterghast, is categorized as a mercenary model, suitable for inclusion in the Storm Legion, Winter Korps, and House Kallyss armies, offering new narrative and strategic layers to these factions.

Khymaera Shadowflame Shard: A New Force Emerges

Diving deep underground, the new Khymaera Faction brings a draconic twist to the game with the Shadowflame Shard Core Army Starter. The set boasts 22 models, led by a brand-new warlock named Shyryss, the Flawless Dark. Adding further might to this new army are two heavy warbeasts: the Vypex and the Hydrix, designed to challenge enemy forces in table-top battles.

The army set comes with four new units, two command attachments, and one solo model. Players can configure the warbeasts to build an army ranging from 47 to 66 points. Retailers opting for the December Premium Bundle, which includes four Shadowflame Shard Core Army Starters, will also receive four exclusive Shadowflame Shard Quickfang Master Holiday Minis.

Khador Annihilators: A Cadre of Destruction

For the MKIV Khador players, the Annihilators cadre adds new life to the game. This expansion features a fresh warcaster, Kommander Tatiana Sikora, and a unique character solo, Sergeant Sergei Krol. These characters enhance gameplay when combined with existing Winter Korps or the anticipated Old Umbrey forces. The Bunker is a versatile terrain feature that can be used in scenarios as a sub for a hill, building or even as an objective. Privateer Press has also noted that there are opportunities for modularity, with two horseshoes being able to be combined to create a larger Bunker or two anterior boxes put together to make a small freestanding building.

Privateer Press has embraced the digital publication of WARMACHINE, as it allows them to make updates to rules in an efficient and timely manner. Early feedback on the previously released Guard Tower has led to adjustments and clarifications in its rules, which have helped to refine the rules around the new Bunker.

The Bunker has ARM 20 and 50 damage boxes and is a building terrain feature. It has the special rule of being a Habitable Bunker, which allows small- and medium-based units and solos to enter the building through a door on the lower level. The top floor of the building is considered elevated terrain, and models occupying the lower level of the bunker cannot be targeted and do not suffer blast damage.

Terrain features will be selectable as cards in the app when you start a match in about two weeks, while the core rules available in the app as well as the online PDF will be updated soon to reflect the changes. Bunkers and any orders that include Bunkers will start shipping in two weeks, and Privateer Press is offering a two-fer discount during the pre-order period, as well as bringing back the discount on purchasing two guard towers at the same time.

According to the report, production of the 80mm solo models for Storm Legion, Sea Raiders, and Winter Korps is set to begin at the end of this week.
