Get Ready to Face the Horrors of Lovecraft’s Mythos with Choose Cthulhu Gamebooks
Choose Cthulhu by Steve Jackson Games is a Kickstarter campaign that has raised $15,000 so far, surpassing its original goal of $10,000. With 10 days left to go, this campaign offers six solo adventure gamebooks based on the Mythos of H. P. Lovecraft.
Steve Jackson Games is proud to bring the Choose Cthulhu series to a larger audience, making these solitaire adventures available worldwide. Each 6″ x 9″ B&W softcover book is a stand-alone game requiring nothing more than the book, your time, and your willingness to delve into things best left unexplored.
A total of fourteen books have been written for the series so far, and now, with the generous support of backers, the first six titles are ready to be added to your library. The team behind the campaign continues to work on the other books in the series and will make them available as soon as they are ready.
The six books available through this Kickstarter campaign include “Professor Gammell’s Research,” “The Polar Expedition,” “The Devil Reef,” “The Nameless City,” “The Dunwich Horror,” and “The Witch House.” Each book promises an existential and terrifying experience, while also being fun.
For those in the United States who prefer the convenience of having the books printed and shipped, reward levels of $25, $55, $80, and $120 are available. For backers outside the United States or those who wish to handle the print processing on their own, reward levels of $14, $36, and $48 are available, which include print-on-demand codes that can be used at DrivethruRPG. The estimated printing cost for each book is $4, and the exact price will vary based on the number of pages and the region of the world in which the backer lives.
The Choose Cthulhu series of gamebooks is a fresh and exciting new idea that promises to breathe new life into the solo roleplaying scene. With 10 days left in the Kickstarter campaign, there’s still time to back this project and experience the terrors and horrors that await within the pages of these books.
