Expansion Details: “Kill Team: Termination”

“Kill Team: Termination” introduces two new factions, the Hernkyn Yaegirs and the Genestealer Cults Brood Brothers. The Hernkyn Yaegirs are scouts from the Leagues of Votann, featuring new miniatures designed from new sprues. The Genestealer Cults Brood Brothers utilize existing Cadian Infantry frames with new upgrade parts, incorporating miniatures from the Genestealer Cults range.

The expansion includes an 88-page rulebook with new lore, rules, and missions for the two teams. Players will also receive token sheets, datacards, decks of tactical and strategic ploys, and two transfer sheets with decals. New terrain pieces, such as the Termination Plasma Genatoriums, are also included, adding depth to the gameplay environment.

Novel Release: “Lelith Hesperax: Queen of Knives”

The novel “Lelith Hesperax: Queen of Knives” by Mike Brooks explores the story of Lelith Hesperax, a gladiator from the Dark City of Commorragh. Kill Team: Ashes of Faith

The first of the new releases, Kill Team: Ashes of Faith, introduces an expansion for Kill Team with a narrative twist. The game portrays a race against time as the Inquisition seeks to eliminate a growing Chaos Cult before it consumes an entire planet or sector.

Included in this box are two full Kill Teams, consisting of 23 miniatures for the Chaos Cult – including the Dark Commune and numerous Chaos Cultists – and seven new models for the Inquisitorial Agents Kill Team. The latter offers multiple build options for figures such as an Interrogator, Questkeeper, Death World Veteran, Gun Servitor, and more. Additionally, five Tempestus Scions and five Sisters of Silence are included for Ancillary Support.

The Kill Team: Ashes of Faith box also contains a 72-page book detailing the rules and background for both Kill Teams, as well as a 40-page Ashes of Faith Campaign Rulebook that provides comprehensive narrative campaign rules. Accompanied by tokens, tiles, cards, reusable stickers, and a game board, players can experience a tense shadow war between these rival factions.

Classic Space Marine Miniatures Return

In addition, Games Workshop is reviving past characters, including the Primaris Company Champion, on a made-to-order basis. This figure, previously an event-exclusive miniature, is now more widely available for a limited time. Various classic Space Marine miniatures are also available for order until May 29th.

The Siege of Cthonia: A Horus Heresy Narrative

Simultaneously, Games Workshop is introducing the first campaign book for the new edition of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Campaigns of The Age of Darkness: The Siege of Cthonia. The 240-page narrative supplement details the history and key missions of the Siege of Cthonia. This epic conflict saw the Sons of Horus attempt to reclaim their homeworld from an entrenched Loyalist garrison of Imperial fists.

The book also introduces full rules for playing games of Zone Mortalis, a new campaign system, fresh core and narrative missions, and more. For those preferring digital format, The Siege of Cthonia is also available to pre-order in ePub format.

New Warhammer 40,000 Figures

A collection of new Warhammer 40,000 figures is also available for pre-order. This includes Lord-castellan Evander Garrius, known as the Tyrant of Cthonia, and Vheren Ashurhaddon, Master of the True Sons. Other new additions include the Infernus Abomination, an inhuman living weapon, and the Despoiler Squad Upgrade Set for Legion Tactical Squads.

Several new Contemptor Dreadnought Upgrade Sets are also available for pre-order, including Ultramarines, Thousand Sons, Word Bearers, Salamanders, Raven Guard, and Alpha Legion torsos.

Black Library Warhammer 40,000 eShorts Week Subscription

Lastly, Games Workshop has announced the Black Library Warhammer 40,000 eShort Week subscription. Starting from May 22nd, subscribers will receive a story a day until May 26th. Single stories can also be purchased individually.

Among the exciting lineup of stories are Altar of Maws by Peter Fehervari, A Forbidden Meal by Carrie Harris, The Dust That Remains by J H Archer, The Whispering Blade by Matthew Harffy, and Stealing Orpheon by Richard Ford.

The Inquisition’s clandestine warriors take the spotlight as players join them in their quest to purge an entire planet plagued by a malignant Chaos Cult. With 40 miniatures in total, the set includes 23 Chaos Cult models and 17 diverse Inquisitorial Agents. Notably, seven new dual-build miniatures offer players the opportunity to assemble a unique band of talented and eccentric characters. The Ashes of Faith Campaign Rulebook provides all the necessary rules for immersing oneself in this gripping planet-spanning narrative.

In addition to Kill Team, the Horus Heresy receives its first narrative expansion, “Campaigns of The Age of Darkness: The Siege of Cthonia.” This 240-page supplement delves into the catastrophic battle for the Sons of Horus’ homeworld, Cthonia. The Inquisitorial Agents are the backbone of the Inquisition, acting as the eyes and ears of their Inquisitor in the field. In Kill Team: Ashes of Faith, players can lead their own team of agents in a mission to stop a Chaos cult from gaining a foothold.

What makes the Inquisitorial Agents Sprues so special is the fact that four of the operatives can each be built as two entirely different characters, providing a level of flexibility that is unmatched in previous Kill Team releases.

The Interrogator is the second-in-command who leads the team in the field, while the Enlightener is a blade-wielding maniac recruited for their ability to cripple their foes with the nick of a knife. The Pistoleers are well-equipped to mow down all kinds of rabble, while the Questkeeper is a zealous close combat machine who hefts a massive eviscerator into combat.

The Mystic is a psychic adept trained to resist the malign influence of the warp and channel its power into miraculous feats of divination, while the Hexorcist is an angry old man with a shotgun who also serves as the spiritual heart of the team.

Perhaps the most distinctive operatives are those drawn from the Astra Militarum. These operatives are clad in a rough mix of armor plates and torn fabric, reflecting their status as untrustworthy criminal scum or hardy death world veterans.

Players will also have access to unique character builds in the form of Autosavant, Tome-skull, and Servitor. The Autosavant is covered in small mechanical limbs to record information, while the Servitor can choose from heavy bolter, multi-melta, or plasma cannon.

The expansion includes six different Ancillary Support operatives, including Tempestus Scions and Sisters of Silence, which players can call upon to aid their kill team. The battle for the city of Deepwell is a push-and-pull struggle for control of vital locations, using decks of cards, reusable stickers, and chunky terrain tiles to create objectives and enlist conspirators.

The Chaos Cult operatives mutate in the midst of battle, and players must fight against their shifting and morphing abilities. The battle culminates in a nail-biting finale, where players’ plans can go awry and momentum can shift back and forth.

The Kill Teams included in the Ashes of Faith expansion are also usable in traditional Kill Team campaigns and matched play missions, offering a distinct playstyle. The Ashes of Faith campaign system only needs a killzone to play, making it an accessible and exciting addition to the Kill Team universe.

Fans of Adeptus Titanicus will also have plenty to look forward to, with the release of the Stratagem Cards. There are four themed packs to choose from, including two for Loyalist and Traitor Princeps, and two for Knight Households.

In Blood Bowl news, players will be able to add Dribl and Drull, a pair of low-down dirty players to their Lustrian Superleague teams. There’s also a new Star Player on the horizon, Withergrasp Doubledrool, a heavily mutated Beastman with two heads and tentacles aplenty.

Black Library has a stack of new books on offer, including The Great Devourer: The Leviathan Omnibus, a collection of stories featuring Hive Fleet Leviathan, and Pilgrims of Fire, the first story in a series covering the major Orders of the Adepta Sororitas.

As for Warhammer+, the next episode of Battle Report arrives just in time for adventurers plunging into the Wyrdhollow, and will be free for everyone to watch from May 5th. On Loremasters, viewers can delve into the history of Orpheon Katakros, Mortarch of the Necropolis, while the Warhammer Vault will be updated with Issue 289 of White Dwarf.
